Original Npros business profile for Do You Bake, preserved below for archival purposes:
Do You Bake? was a Canadian-American food and baking-mix company founded by Jenn Aube, who was also identified in earlier records as Jenn Williams. The brand was promoted by 2010, and Do You Bake, Inc. was federally incorporated in Canada on February 29, 2012. Company materials traced its early development to Aube selling freshly prepared foods at farmers markets, vendor shows and trade events before shifting to packaged dry mixes in 2013. Do You Bake? upgraded its packaging, website and Ambassador system in 2014 and introduced Crave It, a sister brand focused on protein-enhanced foods and snacks, in 2015.
The company marketed more than 200 food products across the Do You Bake? and Crave It brands. Its catalog included bread, scone, biscuit, cookie, cake and brownie mixes; soups, pasta dishes and meal solutions; dips, sauces, marinades and spice blends; coffee, tea and drink mixes; granola and snack products; gluten-free items and pet-treat mixes. Crave It products included whey-, egg-white- and hemp-protein snacks and drink mixes. The company promoted its products as containing no artificial colors, preservatives, fillers or unnecessary additives.
Independent sellers were called Ambassadors and marketed the products through home "bake-off" parties, vendor events, catalogs, social media and replicated websites. Under a 2016 compensation plan, retail commissions ranged from 20% for entry-level Ambassadors to 37% for Platinum Vice Presidents. Residual commissions were paid through a five-level unilevel organization, with ten published ranks from Ambassador through Platinum Vice President. Qualification for team commissions required personal volume, recruited Ambassadors and, at the higher ranks, specified organizational sales volume and leadership development. Optional starter kits were priced at $49.95, $69.95 and $185, although basic Ambassador enrollment was offered without a fee during that version of the program.
An earlier version of the opportunity paid 25% on parties producing less than $200 and 35% on parties above $200, plus 20% on replicated-website orders. Ambassadors could earn as much as 12% on organizational sales extending through six levels and were generally expected to produce at least $200 in quarterly sales. Hosts earned free-product credits beginning at 10% of party sales, with larger rewards for higher-volume parties.
The company's normal operations ended without a formal public closing announcement.
