Getaway Club was an internet-based travel membership and network-marketing company operating through GetawayClub.net by 2007. The company marketed a branded "privilege e-Pass" that reportedly provided access to discounted or wholesale-priced accommodations, travel bookings, car rentals, travel insurance and other leisure services. Contemporary company descriptions presented the business as a combination of travel, internet commerce and a home-based income opportunity, although the company's website did not publicly identify its owners, executives, telephone number or physical business address.

Participants could purchase a Platinum e-Pass for approximately $230, which included access to a password-protected travel website and qualification as a Getaway Club Marketing Consultant. Earlier promotional material also quoted a startup price of about $160. The compensation program was described as a dual plan that paid commissions and advancement bonuses on recruited members as many as five levels deep. Some versions also used cycling boards or staged reward positions, with promotional claims ranging from $250 for referring two members to potential payouts of $15,000 or more. These earnings claims came from participant advertisements and promotional presentations rather than a verified company income disclosure.

The company attracted participants internationally, including substantial promotion in Nigeria and other markets outside the United States. A 2008 Nigerian report described the program as selling $230 travel passes while promising participants as much as $20,400 through its rewards system, and reported that members were experiencing difficulty completing the program's cycling boards.
