GIA Wellness is a California-based health-and-wellness MLM. The business developed from the former BioPro Technology organization and was operating under the GIA Wellness name by 2009. Court records identify LaMarca Unlimited LLC as the company selling products under both the BioPro and GIA Wellness brands, with former BioPro executive Alfred Hanser serving as LaMarca's CEO and Lynda Cormier serving as president. GIA was originally based in Carlsbad and now lists its headquarters at 4065 Oceanside Boulevard in Oceanside, California.

The company sells hydration systems, nutritional supplements, skincare, wearable products, and devices promoted as reducing or offsetting the effects of electromagnetic frequencies. Its current catalog includes the i-H2O Activation System, Cell Guard and Universal Guard devices, Home and Car Harmonizers, GIA4life pendants, Smart Sleeves, i-Thrive nutritional beverages, Cleanse, Edge, i-Rest, Heart-fit, and the Hydra skincare collection. GIA attributes the products to technologies it calls Single File Alignment, Energy Resonance Technology, and Molecular Resonance Effect Technology. Current retail prices range from approximately $40 for small decals to $1,817 for an i-H2O combination package.

GIA Wellness distributes its products through independent Consultants and Affiliates who sell through personalized websites, social media, one-on-one presentations and wellness gatherings. Consultants can earn income from customer sales and build teams of additional consultants. The company calls its compensation system the Abundance Plan.

Consultant enrollment requires a $59.95 starter kit, while optional product packages can cost several hundred dollars or more. The company charges $9.99 per month for a personalized website after the introductory period and a $24.95 annual renewal fee. Consultants earn income from personal product sales and from building teams under the company's performance-based "Abundance Plan." Monthly qualification requires approximately $35 to $100 in business volume, depending on rank. The public enrollment page does not disclose typical consultant earnings or provide detailed commission percentages. GIA currently ships within the United States and through facilities serving Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

GIA Wellness products are centered around the blending of holistic medicine and modern technology. The product base focuses on the use of everyday items like cell phones and headphones and provides shields for the many EMF and radiation waves that are emitted from electronic devices. In addition to magnetic shields and radiation protection GIA Wellness produces water filtration systems designed to aid in the absorption of nutrients as well as maximizing hydration. The company also provides antioxidant elixirs and vitamin enriched tablets designed to fight stress and boost energy.Other products include energy pendants that the company claims protect the body from negative energies that can cause sickness, stress, fatigue and even cell damage. The company's "Edge" tablets is marketed as useful in helping the body recover from physical stress and exercise similar to the substance creatine.

GIA and its BioPro predecessor were named in a 2010 proposed class action, Catlin v. Hanser, concerning Cell Guard and related products promoted as protection against electromagnetic radiation. The complaint alleged that the defendants marketed Molecular Resonance Effect Technology as scientifically supported even though the studies cited did not substantiate those representations. On March 17, 2011, the federal court dismissed the RICO counts for insufficient pleading and dismissed the individual defendants for lack of personal jurisdiction. Indiana and California consumer-fraud claims and an unjust-enrichment claim remained against Actis Global Ventures and LaMarca Unlimited, and the court considered returning those claims to Indiana state court. The ruling did not determine that GIA's products were fraudulent, and no later final judgment or publicly reported monetary settlement was identified.
