Leaving Prints no longer appears to be active as a direct sales company.
Original Npros business profile for Leaving Prints, preserved below for archival purposes:
Leaving Prints was a U.S. direct-selling company that marketed scrapbooking and paper-crafting supplies through independent representatives known as Instructors. The company was operating by 2003 and offered scrapbook kits, patterned paper, cardstock, stickers, page elements and other materials used to create albums, cards and memory books. Customers could purchase individual products and enroll in recurring scrapbook-kit programs.
Leaving Prints combined retail product sales with a multilevel team-building opportunity. Instructors sold products to customers, conducted scrapbooking classes and recruited additional Instructors into their organizations. A June 2006 Entrepreneur profile reported that one of the company's leading representatives had built a team of more than 400 consultants after joining in November 2003. She had initially paid $30 for a business kit and access to the company's wholesale website and reported earning slightly less than $2,000 per month while working approximately 20 hours per week. Those figures represented one successful participant's experience rather than typical earnings.
The company ceased operations on December 31, 2006. Contemporary reports from former Instructors described the closure as sudden: the corporate office displayed a notice stating that the company was closed and out of business, telephone calls went unanswered, online ordering stopped and consultants lost access to their company accounts and downline information. Some former representatives also reported that orders placed during a December clearance sale were not fulfilled, although no formal company liquidation report explaining how those orders or other obligations were handled was located.
