Original Npros business profile for My Precious Kid, preserved below for archival purposes:

My Precious Kid was founded in Oregon in 2001 by Kay Green, initially as a home-based business producing identification cards for children. Green developed the idea after her homeschooled children needed student identification cards, then expanded the concept into safety IDs that could be used on children, car seats, booster seats, luggage and diaper bags. By 2008, the business had grown sufficiently for Green to move it from her home into a retail storefront in Hillsboro, Oregon. In 2009, My Precious Kid reported processing approximately 30 to 60 orders per day and carrying more than 100 child-safety and baby products.

The company's product line expanded well beyond its original child identification cards. My Precious Kid sold wearable ID bracelets, shoe and clothing identification products, fingerprint kits, child locators and alarms, childproofing products, car-seat and travel-safety products, baby carriers, cloth diapers, feeding and sleeping products, potty-training products, safety DVDs and products designed for children with special needs. The business operated both as an Internet retailer and, for a period, through its Hillsboro storefront.

My Precious Kid also offered a home-business sales representative program. Representatives could start for approximately $50, which covered a starter package containing product samples, flyers, order forms, a catalog, name tag, sales manual and other materials, as well as establishment of a wholesale purchasing account. Representatives bought products at wholesale prices and could retain up to approximately 50% of the retail selling price as gross profit. Products could be sold through home parties, fundraisers, friends and family, businesses, schools, daycare centers, Scout groups, mothers' groups and safety classes.

Your $50 initial package will contain product samples, as well as a few flyers, order forms, catalog, name tag, sales manual and sample letters etc.

The $50 also covers the cost of setting up your rep account and wholesale buying status. The wholesale buying allows you to keep up to 50% profit on each sale.
