NEWAYS INTERNATIONAL, INC. no longer appears to be active as a direct sales company.
Neways is no longer active as a standalone MLM company. The Neways business was rebranded as Modere in the 2010s, Modere announced its closure on April 11, 2025, and Shaklee acquired substantially all of Modere’s business and product assets in May 2025. Modere-branded products now have “a new home” at Shaklee, but the old Neways MLM opportunity is no longer operating as Neways.
Original Npros business profile for NEWAYS INTERNATIONAL, INC., preserved below for archival purposes:
Neways operated as a health, wellness, personal-care, and household-products MLM company founded by Tom and Dee Mower. The company became known for positioning its products around safer ingredients and "healthy home" themes, with categories that included nutritional supplements, personal care, cosmetics, shampoos, shower gels, household cleaners, and related wellness products.
Neways used a network-marketing model built around independent distributors who sold products and recruited other distributors. By 2006, Neways described itself as selling through a worldwide network of independent distributors, with sales in 23 countries and manufacturing facilities in Utah and New Zealand. By 2013, the company described its business as serving customers in 30 countries, with a member-led direct-to-consumer strategy and a distributor community.
Neways went through several major ownership and brand changes. Golden Gate Capital acquired Neways International in November 2006. Z Capital Partners became the company's majority controlling shareholder in July 2013. The business was later rebranded as Modere, which continued the company's wellness, beauty, personal-care, collagen, weight-management, and household-product lines under a "social retail" direct-selling model. Modere announced on April 11, 2025, that it was closing after 23 years in business. Shaklee acquired substantially all of Modere's business in May 2025, including rights to its trademarks, patents, formulas, North American manufacturing and testing equipment, inventory, and product lines including Liquid BioCell, Trim, Burn, Sculpt, and Curb.
Neways' regulatory history includes federal tax-evasion convictions involving founders Tom and Dee Mower. Federal court records state that Thomas and Leslie Mower owned Neways entities in the United States, Australia, and Malaysia that used a multilevel marketing system to sell personal-care products, and that Leslie Mower was convicted after trial of conspiracy to defraud the United States and six counts of tax evasion for tax years 1992 through 1997.
