Rainbow Vacuum Review and Profile

Rainbow is the principal brand of Rexair, whose history dates to the development of the original Rexair cleaner during the 1930s. The company incorporated water filtration into its cleaning system and adopted the Rainbow product name in the 1950s. Rexair later became part of Jarden and then Newell Brands before being sold to private-equity firm Rhône Capital in 2019.

The company sells the Rainbow SRX, a premium cleaning system that uses a water basin and separator to capture dirt, dust and odors. Optional products include the Power Nozzle, AquaMate carpet-cleaning system, RainJet hard-floor cleaner, MiniJet upholstery and spot cleaner, RainbowMate powered attachment, fragrances and other cleaning accessories.

Rainbow uses a direct-selling dealer structure rather than conventional retail distribution. Independent distributors appoint and train dealers who arrange one-on-one demonstrations in customers' homes. Dealers earn compensation from product sales, while qualified participants may advance into management or operate independent distributorships. Rexair publicly recruits both dealers and distributors, but it does not publish a standardized companywide compensation plan because individual distributor organizations manage much of the local salesforce structure.
