RIMAN is a South Korean beauty and wellness company that markets skin care, personal care, and wellness products through their network of independent distributors.
The company was founded in South Korea in 2018 by Chairman Joonghyun Ahn. KyungJung Kim serves as Global CEO.
RIMAN's product lines include the flagship skin care brand ICD (Incellderm), the personal care brand Botalab, and the wellness brand Lifening. RIMAN's product line features Giant BYoungPool, a proprietary cultivar of Centella asiatica that the company grows on a propety on Jeju Island.
RIMAN officially launched in North America in March 2023 with an event in Las Vegas. The U.S. subsidiary, Riman, Inc., is headquartered in Irvine, California, led by Chief Marketing Officer and General Manager Betty Perez.
The company has reported expansion to 22 markets worldwide.
RIMAN operates as a multilevel-marketing company through independent distributors called Planners, sometimes referred to as Beauty Planners. Planners can advance through the ranks of Planner, Manager, Senior Manager, Team Leader, Director, Senior Director, and National Director based on sales volume measured in Business Points, customer acquisition, and team development.
The North American compensation plan includes six income streams. Retail Commissions range from 10% to 40% depending on rank, and Sponsorship Commissions of 5% up to 40% are paid on volume from first-level customers and Planners.
The plan also includes a 5% Team Commission, a Leadership Match paying 5% to 15% through as many as six generations, a Director Leadership Incentive of 2% to 4% with a 1% Director Bonus on first-generation Director groups, and a Leadership Achievement Score Incentive that shares 1% of North American monthly Business Points among qualified Directors. Planners can also earn an extra 5% in Riman Dollars when they acquire 10 Autoship customers in a calendar month.
Income Disclosures:
RIMAN's 2026 North American income disclosure statement reports 48,656 active U.S. Planners at the Planner rank, 4,758 Managers, 8,280 Senior Managers, 303 Team Leaders, 40 Directors, 19 Senior Directors, and 2 National Directors. It estimates typical monthly earnings of $0 to $200 for Planners, who make up 55% to 65% of active U.S. Planners, $100 to $300 for Managers, $150 to $2,000 for Senior Managers, and $3,000 to $6,000 for Team Leaders, who make up 2% to 4% of active Planners. Directors and Senior Directors, each less than 1% of active Planners, are estimated at $8,000 to $18,000 and $10,000 to $25,000 per month, respectively, and National Directors, less than 0.1%, at $50,000 or more.
The company describes these figures as illustrative estimates based partly on industry-standard income distributions and payout structures at comparable companies rather than actual payouts, states that most Planners earn little or no income, and warns that expenses will reduce net income.
In October 2024, the Korea Fair Trade Commission rejected Riman Korea's application for a consent decree, a procedure that would have allowed the company to resolve an investigation under the Door-to-Door Sales Act through voluntary corrective measures without a finding of a violation. The Commission cited the seriousness of the conduct and the public interest.
In May 2025, the Korea Fair Trade Commission filed a criminal complaint with prosecutors against Riman Korea and its representatives and imposed corrective orders. The Commission found that from March 2020 to November 2024, Riman Korea operated a sales organization with three or more levels while registered only as a sponsored door-to-door sales business, rather than as a multi-level marketing business, and paid sponsorship commissions to agency heads and branch managers based on the sales performance of their subordinate salespeople. Riman Korea said it had been unaware that its sales method required multi-level marketing registration, and it registered as a multi-level marketing business at the end of 2024. The referral to prosecutors was not a criminal conviction.
