SomaLife International no longer appears to be active as a direct sales company.

SomaLife remains active as a nutritional-supplement company, but it no longer operates as a network-marketing company or MLM business opportunity.

SomaLife was founded in Kelowna, British Columbia, in 1998 by Dr. Philip White and his wife, Marlies White. The company grew out of Dr. White's work in nutrition, aging, and cellular health and initially focused on proprietary amino-acid formulations. SomaLife developed into an international health and wellness company selling nutritional supplements through both direct product sales and a network of independent business builders. Marlies White continues to lead the company following Dr. White's death in 2015.

The company became best known for its gHP Youth Formula and gHP Sport supplements. Its historical product line also included ProVit Xcell, IQ150, SomaPet, Super X, and other products aimed at longevity, athletic performance, brain health, general nutrition, and animal wellness. SomaLife's products were developed around combinations of amino acids, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other nutritional ingredients. Several of the company's product names and formulations were protected through patents and trademarks.

During its years in network marketing, SomaLife sold products through an independent Associate or "business builder" organization as well as directly to wholesale customers. Historical MLM industry records identify the company's compensation structure as a unilevel plan, with distributors able to generate income from their own product sales and sales produced through their organizations. SomaLife operated internationally, with distributor activity reported in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and the Philippines.

The network-marketing opportunity remained active into at least 2016. The Kelowna Chamber of Commerce calendar listed a "SomaLife Business Opportunity" presentation for October 12, 2016, providing a documented point at which the company was still actively promoting its business opportunity. The exact date SomaLife discontinued its multilevel compensation program is not clearly documented in the surviving public record.

SomaLife later moved away from network marketing and returned its focus to conventional product sales. The company now states this directly in its own FAQ: "We are no longer a network marketing company." Its current website operates as an online retail store offering individual purchases and recurring subscriptions rather than distributor enrollment or a downline-based compensation opportunity. Customers can also participate in the SomaLife Rewards loyalty program, earning points on purchases and other activities.
