Original Npros business profile for Story Time Felts, preserved below for archival purposes:

Story Time Felts is a Utah-based educational-products company that has been in business for more than 30 years. The company built its reputation around reusable felt figures, storyboards, activity sets, dolls, puppets, masks, quiet books, and other hands-on learning materials for children. Its products have traditionally been marketed to parents, teachers, homeschool families, libraries, churches, and early-childhood educators. Story Time Felts remains in business today and continues to sell its educational felt products through storytimefelts.com.

For many years, Story Time Felts operated through a party-plan direct-selling model. Independent consultants sold products through home parties, catalog sales, vendor events, online ordering, and person-to-person sales. The company also used a multilevel leadership structure in which consultants sponsored and trained other representatives and advanced through leadership ranks. Karen Clark served as an Executive National Director and later Director of Consultant Development from September 1998 through September 2010, overseeing hundreds of direct-sales team members nationwide.

Story Time Felts' direct-selling status is also documented by the Nebraska Department of Revenue, which entered into a distributor agreement with the company on April 28, 2008. These agreements allow direct-selling companies to collect sales tax on products sold through their independent representatives rather than requiring each individual representative to hold a separate Nebraska sales-tax permit.

The consultant organization remained relatively small compared with major national party-plan companies. Story Time Felts had fewer than 400 consultants nationwide during one period of its expansion and offered a $30 kit-less enrollment option to encourage new representatives to join the company.

The product line centered on educational felt figures and visual-learning materials designed for storytelling, language development, sequencing, imaginative play, and classroom instruction. Products included Bible stories, Old and New Testament sets, LDS scripture sets, nursery rhymes, fairy tales, animals and science sets, early-learning activities, felt dolls, backgrounds and boards, soft books, playmats, music CDs, puppets, masks, and related teaching materials.

Story Time Felts differentiated its products by combining the felt pieces with educational material. Sets commonly included lesson ideas, activity suggestions, story information, sequencing exercises, coloring sheets, suggested literature, or other teaching resources. The products were designed as reusable tactile learning tools rather than simply decorative felt figures.

The consultant program included sponsoring and leadership advancement in addition to personal retail selling. Titles such as Executive National Director confirm that the organization extended beyond a single-level commission structure. Consultants built sales teams, trained new representatives, and advanced within the company's field organization. A complete historical compensation schedule is no longer available, so the exact retail commission percentages and leadership override rates cannot be reliably stated.

Story Time Felts eventually moved away from its consultant-driven business model. The company remained firmly established in direct selling through at least 2010, but its current website no longer promotes consultant enrollment, home parties, starter kits, sponsoring, leadership ranks, or an income opportunity. Customers now purchase products directly through the company's online store.

Story Time Felts has several Team Kit Options. The three basic kits are the Business Basics Kit for $75, the Starter Kit for $175, and the Power Start Kit for $250. The kits include various products including brochures, flyers, catalogs and more.Consultant Commissions begin at 25% and can be as high as 35%.
