Syntek Global was founded in 2008 and launched as a Utah-based multilevel marketing company specializing in automotive fuel-treatment products. Headquartered in Draper, Utah, the company built its business around Xtreme Fuel Treatment (XFT), a fuel additive marketed for gasoline and diesel engines. Syntek promoted the product as improving fuel economy, reducing emissions, cleaning fuel systems and extending engine life. The company emphasized that virtually every vehicle owner was a potential customer, positioning fuel savings as an alternative to the nutritional and personal-care products commonly sold through network marketing.

Syntek Global marketed Xtreme Fuel Treatment through independent distributors using a multilevel compensation plan that combined retail sales with team-building incentives.
