Terra Biotech was a Dallas-based nutritional supplement company founded around 2010 by Warren and Jamie Nugent. The company grew out of Jamie Nugent's experience with breast cancer and the couple's interest in nutrition and wellness. Warren Nugent served as president and CEO, while Jamie developed the company's charitable one2one program. Terra Biotech sold its products through independent consultants and combined its nutritional business with a social-giving component.
The company's principal brand was Nectr, a line of concentrated nutritional shots formulated with fruits, botanicals, herbs, antioxidants, and other nutritional ingredients. The initial line included Nectr CORE, an antioxidant and phytonutrient formula; Nectr RIZE, positioned for cognitive and energy support; and Nectr CALM, formulated for relaxation. Terra Biotech promoted the products through professional-athlete endorsements, including Olympic gold medalist Natalia Mishkutionok, former Dallas Stars player Craig Ludwig, and former Dallas Cowboys player Mike Kiselak.
Terra Biotech operated through independent consultants using a network-marketing compensation program. Consultants sold Nectr products, referred customers, and built distributor organizations, while the company promoted compensation, personal-development, and leadership programs alongside its products. The full historical payout schedule is no longer available, but company materials clearly identify an independent distributorship and MLM-style business opportunity. Terra Biotech remained actively promoting weekly business-opportunity and leadership calls into 2013.
The company also made charitable giving a central part of its identity. Through the one2one program, Terra Biotech donated a serving of Nectr Core nutritional powder for each qualifying adult product sold. In 2012, the company partnered with Feeding the Orphans and shipped 10,000 servings of Nectr Core Vitamin Powder to Ghana, with additional efforts directed toward children in Africa and Haiti. Jamie Nugent served as ambassador for the program.
Terra Biotech eventually disappeared from the direct-selling market. Its Texas registration is now listed as inactive, and terrabiotech.com no longer operates as an active product or consultant-enrollment platform. The company's public activity is concentrated in the 2010â€"2013 period.
