Younique is a Lehi, Utah-based beauty, skincare, body-care, and wellness direct-selling company founded in 2012 by Derek Maxfield and Melanie Huscroft. The company sells cosmetics, skincare, eye products, lip products, body products, and supplements through ecommerce, app-based sales tools, Brand Ambassadors, and Brand Affiliates. Younique grew rapidly as a social-selling beauty company, and Coty acquired a 60% controlling stake in 2017 before selling that stake back to Younique's original founders in 2019.
The company remains active and continues to use a direct-selling / MLM-style compensation structure. Current materials describe Brand Ambassadors and Brand Affiliates, retail commissions of up to 40%, sponsorship, upline relationships, activity requirements, team pay, title advancement, bonus pools, and incentive opportunities. Younique has faced criticism and self-regulatory scrutiny over earnings representations, including a 2023 DSSRC inquiry involving salesforce social-media claims, but no public record was identified showing a shutdown, bankruptcy, acquisition by another current owner, or discontinuation of the Younique business opportunity.
Younique currently offers three product lines ÃÆ'Ã'¢Ã¢'Ã'¬" the Moodstruck Eye Collection, Magnetic Nail Polish, and Younique Leggies. Younique's products are produced with the goal of making presenters and their customers feel beautiful and confident.
