Herbalife Nutrition reported second-quarter net sales of 1.6 billion dollars for the period ended June 30, 2021, up 15 percent from a year earlier and the largest quarterly sales result in company history. Reported diluted earnings were 1.31 dollars a share and adjusted diluted earnings were 1.52 dollars, up 60 percent and 57 percent. Reported net income rose 25 percent to 144.2 million dollars. Adjusted EBITDA of 262.1 million dollars was the largest quarterly adjusted EBITDA result in company history.
Chairman and chief executive John Agwunobi said this was the fourth straight quarter of double-digit net sales growth. Energy, sports, and fitness sales rose 45 percent, targeted nutrition rose 19 percent, and weight management rose 12 percent. Five of six regions grew, and four grew more than 20 percent. North America rose 7 percent. Asia Pacific rose 38 percent, led by India at 93 percent. Year-to-date net income was 292 million dollars.
Full-year 2021 net sales guidance was updated to growth of 8.5 percent to 12.5 percent. Adjusted diluted earnings guidance was set at 4.70 to 5.10 dollars a share. The company also started full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance of 875 million to 935 million dollars.
