Natures Sunshine Products appointed Tariq H. Hassan to its board effective July 1, 2021. He will serve on the audit committee. The board now has nine directors, eight of them independent.
Hassan has more than 25 years in global brand strategy, communications, innovation, and insights. He was chief marketing officer at Petco, where the company said he helped reverse a two-year decline, deliver 11 straight quarters of growth, and lift e-commerce by more than 20 percent. Earlier he was a senior vice president at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, leading enterprise brand work and global wealth management marketing, and he held leadership roles at Hewlett Packard and Omnicom.
President and chief executive Terrence Moorehead said Hassan brings consumer marketing and digital experience to the company transformation. Hassan said he would work with the board and management on the five-point growth strategy. He holds a master of science from Northwestern University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Ontario.
