NATURE'S SUNSHINE PRODUCTS
May 5, 2022
Nature's Sunshine Products said first-quarter 2022 net sales rose 8 percent to a company-record 110.5 million dollars. The company posted a GAAP net loss of 2.7 million dollars, or 15 cents per diluted share, versus net income of 4.2 million dollars a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA fell to 8.2 million dollars from 11.6 million dollars.
Chief executive Terrence Moorehead said transformation initiatives and Asia growth supported sales while supply-chain and inflation pressures weighed on margin, including 4.2 million dollars of incremental inventory valuation charges, 3.1 million of which related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Cash and cash equivalents were 66.5 million dollars at March 31 after an 8.0 million dollar share repurchase in the quarter.
