August 9, 2022
Nature's Sunshine Products said second-quarter 2022 net sales were 104.2 million dollars, down 4.4 percent from 109.0 million dollars a year earlier, or up 0.5 percent excluding currency. GAAP net income was 1.0 million dollars, or 3 cents per diluted common share, versus 6.8 million dollars, or 32 cents. Adjusted EBITDA was 9.0 million dollars, down from 13.4 million dollars.
Chief executive Terrence Moorehead said Asia growth and Europe losses left constant-currency sales roughly flat despite Ukraine war, inflation, supply-chain pressure, and lingering COVID effects. Asia sales rose 8.8 percent while Europe fell 20.3 percent and North America fell 8.8 percent. Cash was 56.3 million dollars at June 30 after about 12.0 million dollars of share repurchases in the first half.
