Tupperware Brands Corporation disclosed that on January 24, 2024, after approval by its Audit and Finance Committee, it engaged KPMG LLP as its independent registered public accounting firm for the fiscal year ended December 30, 2023 and to review financial statements for the first three fiscal quarters of 2023.
The engagement followed PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP's earlier decision not to stand for reappointment after the company filed its delayed 2022 Form 10-K. Tupperware said it had not consulted with KPMG during the two most recent fiscal years or any subsequent interim period before the engagement on accounting, auditing or financial reporting issues that would have been reportable under SEC rules.
The auditor change was a key step toward filing the company's overdue 2023 quarterly reports, which remained subject to a March 31, 2024 NYSE filing deadline tied to possible suspension or delisting procedures.
