Tupperware
January 15, 2025
Tupperware officially ended its business in Germany, once one of its strongest markets, posting a notice on its German website on January 15, 2025, that operations had been discontinued. The company said orders received through December 29, 2024, would still be processed and shipped, though high order volume could push deliveries to the end of January.
According to German press reports, the decision to wind down the German unit was made as of January 8, after local management failed to secure new license agreements from the U.S. owner of the brand. About 60 employees and roughly 12,000 independent consultants in Germany were affected, and as many as 100,000 independent consultants were affected across Europe as the brand withdrew from the region.
The exit follows Tupperware Brands' September 2024 Chapter 11 filing and the November 2024 sale of the brand and operations in selected core markets to Party Products LLC, a group formed by the company's secured lenders. The buyer had said it would continue selling Tupperware products only in core markets worldwide.
