Amorepacific said on December 29, 2023 that co-chief executive Lee Dong-soon is resigning, citing personal reasons. He served as chief executive through the end of December.
With his departure, Amorepacific moves from three co-chief executives, Chairman Suh Kyung-bae, Kim Seung-hwan and Lee Dong-soon, to two, Suh and Kim, according to a regulatory filing with South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service.
Lee joined Amorepacific in 1989 and led the company's supply chain management unit and its packaging affiliate Pacific Package before being named chief executive in March 2022. His term had been due to run through March 2024.
Amorepacific, founded in Seoul in 1945, is one of South Korea's largest cosmetics groups and has sold through door-to-door beauty counselors since 1964.
