NEW DELHI, India - October 27, 2026
Amway India is expanding its network of physical stores, with plans to open or revamp several more locations over the next three to four years as part of a multi-year push to give its distributors more face-to-face space to meet customers.
The latest step came during an official visit to India by Michael Nelson, President and CEO of Amway, who opened a new Experience Center in Gurugram. The company said the store rollout builds on the INR 100 crore investment Nelson announced last year for a range of initiatives in India, including a larger physical presence.
Amway India currently operates more than 85 stores nationwide. In recent months it has opened or revamped more than 14 of them in markets including Pune, Kolkata, Siliguri, Imphal, Bhagalpur, Anand, Ahmedabad, Bongaigaon, Agra and Nanded, a mix the company said is meant to balance growth across major metros and tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Its Imphal store was among those upgraded.
Managing Director Rajneesh Chopra said the locations are not conventional retail stores but "engagement hubs" where consumers can try Amway products and distributors can meet customers and build local communities. Chopra said the company has spent the past year adding new stores and converting existing ones to the new format, and intends to keep expanding the footprint across the country.
Nelson called India central to Amway's global growth and said Indian consumers are increasingly looking for science-backed health and wellbeing products, more personalized service and greater convenience. He described the Gurugram opening as a milestone that reflects the company's long-term confidence in the market.
Amway did not say how many new or revamped stores the next phase will include, which cities are planned, or how much of the INR 100 crore investment is earmarked for retail.
The company tied the stores to its compliance message as well, saying it operates under applicable laws and regulations and continues to strengthen governance and business practices, with the physical centers offering a transparent setting for product discovery, consumer education and interaction between consumers and distributors. Direct sellers in India operate under the Consumer Protection (Direct Selling) Rules, 2021.
Amway India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Amway Corporation, part of Alticor Global Holdings Inc. of Ada, Michigan. The company is approaching 30 years in India, where it sells close to 140 products across nutrition, beauty, personal care, home care and consumer durables through its direct selling partners, and operates a manufacturing facility at Nilakotai in Tamil Nadu's Dindigul district. Globally, Amway reports annual revenue of USD 7.3 billion.
