eXp Realty
November 9, 2023

eXp World Holdings, Inc., parent of eXp Realty, disclosed in a Form 8-K filed November 9, 2023 that Jeff Whiteside notified the company on November 4 that he would resign as chief financial officer and chief collaboration officer effective December 1, 2023 to pursue other opportunities. The company said the resignation was not the result of any disagreement.

The board said it would search for internal and external candidates. If no successor is named by December 1, Chief Accounting Officer Jian "Kent" Cheng will also serve as principal financial officer until a permanent CFO is appointed.

In the same filing, eXp said it was named on November 2 as a defendant in Batton v. Compass, Inc., a putative class action in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on behalf of certain home buyers. The suit alleges the defendant brokerages participated in a system that caused sellers to pay inflated buyer-broker commissions in violation of federal antitrust law and seeks an injunction, damages and treble damages. eXp said additional antitrust litigation was possible.
