Natura &Co Holding and Natura Cosméticos said in a material fact filed with the SEC on December 29, 2023 that Natura concluded the sale of its stake in The Body Shop to international private equity group Aurelius.
The agreement, announced November 14, valued The Body Shop at an enterprise value of 207 million pounds, including a 90 million pound earn-out, with payments due over up to five years after closing.
The company said the sale strengthens its effort to streamline operations and simplify its businesses and sharpens its focus on strategic priorities, notably integrating Natura and Avon in Latin America, its direct selling model and further optimizing Avon International's footprint. With the earlier sale of Aesop, Natura &Co is now concentrated on its Natura and Avon brands.
