Twenty years ago, Jean Griswold sat at her dining room table in Erdenheim, Pennsylvania and began making phone calls, gathering a group of competent, caring people to help older and disabled individuals stay safe in their homes.
The idea for this unique home-care organization came about when an older woman, who was a member of the church where Dr. Lincoln Griswold (Jean's Husband) was the minister, was unable to secure adequate help in her home. A friend had been coming in to keep her company and care for her, but the friend fell and broke her hip and was unable to continue helping. The older woman stopped eating and forgot to drink enough fluids. As a result her kidneys failed and she died.
