Mary Kay products focus primarily on the cosmetics industry. Everything from research and development, testing (which is never done on animals), packaging, marketing and distribution originates with the Mary Kay company.

The product line includes skin care, make up, fragrance, a men’s line, and body and sun products. Mary Kay products are sold wholesale to consultants who then make their profits from selling at retail prices. Using the party-plan approach, consultants can present the products to a large group of potential customers in one sitting, and in a personal environment. Product prices range from $13.00 for basic lipstick, to upwards of $50.00 for products in the age-defying line.
