Nu Skin Enterprises said third quarter revenue would land between 637 million and 642 million dollars, softer than it had expected. President and chief executive Ryan Napierski tied the shortfall to the delta variant and to government limits that interrupted selling and distribution, with the largest effect in mainland China and Southeast Asia. Those limits also disrupted incentive trips and local expos.

The company said the United States collagen launch still produced strong growth, and that it introduced Tencent digital tools in China during the quarter. Napierski said management still expected full-year 2021 revenue to be modestly higher than the year before, and pointed to later product launches and more social commerce tools.

Nu Skin said it would publish complete third quarter figures and updated guidance after the market closed on November 3. The October 4 notice warned that the estimate could still change when closing and review procedures were finished.
