Nu Skin is marking its annual Force for Good Day with volunteer projects in markets where it operates, after COVID-19 increased humanitarian needs.

At the global headquarters, employees and families are making items at home for local schools and community nonprofits. More than 5,000 items are being created for 10 projects. Those include child-themed face masks for preschools, face shields decorated as astronauts, fish tanks, and other scenes for elementary students and teachers, homework kits for children not in school regularly because of COVID-19, learning puppets for children with disabilities, and meals for local families affected by the pandemic.

Chief executive Ritch Wood said the day will look different in each market because people cannot gather as they usually do, but the company wanted to keep the tradition. He said sales leaders, customers, and employees remain committed to giving time and resources while recognizing impact the company says it has had on hundreds of thousands of people.

Projects listed for this year include health lessons for elementary students in Greater China, fulfilling a wish for a boy with leukemia in Eastern Europe, service at an orphanage in South Africa, a beach cleanup in Taiwan, books for 12 primary schools in Japan, hygiene gift boxes of masks, soap, and hand sanitizer for high-risk people in Korea, and a Red Cross blood drive in the Pacific.

Force for Good Day is the company local volunteering effort. Nu Skin said sales leaders, employees, and customers also support other projects through the year.
