Nu Skin president Ryan Napierski has been appointed chairman of the Advocacy Committee of the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations. He will lead advocacy toward outside stakeholders and will hold the chair for three years, through October 2023.
Tamuna Gabilaia, executive director and chief operating officer of the federation, said the committee works on reputation, outreach, education, economic trends, philanthropy, and womens empowerment. She said his experience running the Nu Skin global business and living in many of its markets will help the committee.
He is in his second year as chair of the U.S. Direct Selling Association and sits on the federation CEO Council. Chief executive Ritch Wood also sits on that council. Vicky Leevutinun, president of Nu Skin Southeast Asia, is on the federation Asia Pacific Association Advisory Council. The company said 18 senior managers hold leadership roles at 14 direct selling associations, including chair or vice chair posts in the United States, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Norway, and board seats in Japan, Australia, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
Napierski said direct selling companies have long focused on human experience and that Nu Skin wants to help shape the industry as consumer behavior changes. He said a world federation of direct sellers touches tens of millions of lives each day.
