Rhyz Inc., the strategic investment arm of Nu Skin Enterprises, said it acquired BeautyBio, a clean and clinically proven skincare and beauty-device brand founded by Jamie O'Banion in 2011. BeautyBio will continue to operate independently as an omnichannel brand headed by O'Banion while pursuing growth and cost efficiencies within the Rhyz ecosystem.
Nu Skin president and chief executive Ryan Napierski said BeautyBio's device intellectual property in hydration facial and microneedling technology would strengthen Nu Skin's beauty-device systems position and that Nu Skin's manufacturing and technology expertise would help BeautyBio scale. BeautyBio products include the GLOfacial Pore Cleansing Tool, GloPRO at-home microneedling tool and related performance skincare sold through retail partners including Sephora and Ulta.
The acquisition was announced the same day as Nu Skin's second-quarter 2023 earnings release. Nu Skin Enterprises is a Provo, Utah based multilevel marketer of personal care and nutrition products; the Npros directory lists the company as Nu Skin Enterprises.
