Herbalife Entrepreneurs Offer Fast Food Alternative

Healthy lifestyle company Herbalife is being taken to another level by two Manhattan entrepreneurs who opened Healthy Fusion, a nutritional shake bar and Herbalife product store. The store will offer consumers an alternative to eating on the go, in the form of healthy Herbalife products and shakes, as well as nutritional coaching and support for reaching wellness goals. Jake Lutjemeier and Cody Calp are changing the face of fast food by offering their customers, quick and easy nutrition on the go, as well as personalized wellness plans, and step-by-step coaching and support in achieving nutrition or weight loss goals. Originally a graduate of University of Kansas, Lutjemeier started a similar nutrition club in Topeka with a public health focus. When he relocated to Manhattan, it was with the intent of bringing his knowledge of healthy living and nutrition choices to the island with him. Lutjemeier cited the lack of available healthy choices in the city for his decision as well.

"Unless you want to cook at home or go to Subway all the time", he said, there are few healthy choices.

The shakes offered at Healthy Fusion will include two add ins of either aloe, fiber, protein, green tea or a protein bar in addition to the Herbalife products. Customers have the option of calling in for shakes, or relaxing in house with Wi-Fi and comfortable surroundings. In addition to the Herbalife products, the Lutjemeier and Calp offer free wellness evaluations that can be done one time or weekly. The evaluations determine weight, body fat percentage, skeletal muscle percentage and resting metabolic rate. The company's wellness coaches then use this information to help client's reach their wellness goals through a personally designed plan.

The pair says that their main objective is to educate the public about nutrition and promote healthy lifestyle benefits, while providing an alternative to fast food.
