John M. Eley, is currently a Certified Estate Planner with Fidelity Capital Advisors. John received his BS degree in Economics from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. He was nominated All-American in basketball and drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 1972. The following year, General Motors hired him as an engineer. After two years, he completed his childhood dream and became a Marine Officer. In 1976 he became a Naval Aviator with his commercial pilot license. John became a manager for Johnson & Johnson Health Care in California in 1979. He developed his territory into the fifth highest sales volume in America and IBM provided him with an offer that he could not refuse in 1981. At IBM, he received training that was equivalent to a Masters in Business Administration and Computer Science. Following his entrepreneurial spirit he began operating a retail business venture of his own. John then decided to turn his full career attention to finances. He worked as an Investment Banker and transitioned to a securities broker with Financial Network Investment Corporation (FNIC) which is now owned by ING. Today, John is a Mortgage and Stockbroker, as well as a Financial and Certified Estate Planner. As a public speaker, he spends most of his time flying across America educating corporate and business employees on “How to Retire in Financial Dignity. He is a current member of the following organizations: International Association of Financial Planners (IAFP), the United Way, Project Blue Print (Non-profit Board Consultants), Chair of the Houston Minority Business Council and serves on the board of the Urban Financial Service Coalition (bankers and financial planners).
