Avon International global chief executive Angela Cretu said Avon prices would rise only in line with inflation, even as supply and vendor costs climbed. To hold that line, the company said it moved early with logistics partners, locked in longer contracts, and raised pay for delivery workers.
Cretu said the Natura group, which also includes The Body Shop, would share manufacturing and raw-material resources across brands so costs stayed steadier. She said the aim was fair value and to avoid putting as much of the cost shock as possible onto shoppers.
The pledge came as the United Kingdom faced higher raw-material costs and shortages. Cretu said cost pressure could last for years, but that the combination with Natura, described as more than 6.3 million consultants and representatives in about 100 countries, left Avon better prepared.
