New Zealand's Commerce Commission said on March 12, 2026 that it is investigating a potential pyramid scheme operating in communities across the country that promotes a business opportunity built around the health supplements platform LiveGood.
The Hawke's Bay-based scheme markets itself through Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, and new participants are added to groups including Freedom Lifestyle Revolution, The Official Diamond Rush and other New Zealand Facebook groups linked to it, the commission said. The scheme promotes an affiliate compensation plan.
Commission Deputy Chair Anne Callinan said the scheme carries the hallmarks of a pyramid scheme, in which individuals primarily make money through continuous recruitment rather than the sale of genuine products or services. "While the investigation is in its early stages, we believe we have a duty to publicise this potentially illegal scheme so Kiwis are aware of the risk of becoming involved," she said.
The commission noted that the scheme's joining fees are relatively low, so many participants hold multiple memberships, and urged people to exercise caution and seek advice before investing. Pyramid schemes are illegal in New Zealand. The commission's case register shows the investigation was opened on October 13, 2025, and the regulator said it will provide updates in due course.
LiveGood is a Jupiter, Florida-based multilevel marketing company led by chief executive Ben Glinsky. The commission's statement concerns the New Zealand promotional groups and did not announce any action against LiveGood itself.
