...It's the home of Lili Devaney, a 29-year-old mother of two who usually spends the weekend with her family. On this day, however, the house has become the staging area for a say-anything sex-toy party, where goods are on display to be touched, waggled, sniffed and passed around by Devaney's friends.
Temptation Parties, known by another brand as Passion Parties, are much like the Tupperware and Pampered Chef affairs that cropped up in the 1960s and '70s. It's a way for a group, usually women, to socialize and stock up on supplies and for hosts to make a little money on the side.
"I've had Pampered Chef parties, but, to me, it's not as fun," Devaney said. "It's too structured and focused on hard sells. These were just so much fun, I decided to have my own."...
