Original Npros business profile for Global Verge, preserved below for archival purposes:

Global Verge was founded in 2008 by Mark Petschel and operated from Lee's Summit, Missouri. The company sold access to an online shopping mall, travel and restaurant discounts, identity-theft services, energy-saving products and other consumer services. Its best-known venture was Buzzirk Mobile, which was intended to offer unlimited wireless voice and data service through Zer01 Mobile. Global Verge recruited thousands of representatives before Zer01 terminated the relationship in August 2009, stating that Global Verge and Buzzirk had violated their agreement. The promised nationwide mobile service never became an established commercial offering.

Independent representatives paid recurring membership fees ranging historically from approximately $14.95 to $99.95 per month. The company's Flex Pay Plan used a compressed 3-by-9 matrix and offered retail commissions, matching bonuses, upline retail commissions and participation in a global bonus pool. Global Verge later sued Zer01, alleging that the wireless company owed it $170,500, while separate litigation involved former consultants and competing sales organizations.

In 2016, the Missouri Securities Division entered a consent order against Global Verge, Petschel and related companies concerning sales of unregistered company shares. Regulators found that Petschel had failed to disclose an earlier felony conviction for selling unregistered securities and had sold shares while prohibited from doing so. The respondents were ordered to pay $200,000 in restitution; an additional $30,000 payment and $5,000 in investigative costs were suspended subject to compliance with the order.

The Global Verge MLM has been the center of some controversy regarding Buzzirk Mobile and Zer01, and recent issues with their merchant account processor.
