MyVideoTalk Review and History

Information on the MyVideoTalk discontinued direct selling program.

MyVideoTalk Overview

MyVideoTalk no longer appears to be active as a direct sales company.

MyVideoTalk was an internet-video communications and network-marketing company founded by Mel and Amie Gill. It began on April 30, 2004, as a division of Team Effort International, a Northern California company the Gills had established in 2002. MyVideoTalk expanded into Europe in 2005, India in 2006, and Southeast Asia and the Middle East in 2008. The company eventually promoted its video services in more than 60 international markets.

MyVideoTalk entered the market before browser-based video meetings, video email, and livestreaming became common business tools. Its services allowed customers to record and send video messages, create personal video websites, host online meetings, broadcast live presentations, and deliver internet-based training. Small businesses, salespeople, trainers, and network marketers used the platform for demonstrations, customer follow-up, recruiting presentations, webinars, and online events.

MyVideoTalk sold monthly video-service subscriptions to retail customers and operated a multilevel compensation program through independent representatives. Representatives earned 20% on a retail customer's first monthly payment and 10% on continuing subscription payments. The plan also paid a $100 Fast Start Bonus on qualifying personal package sales. Weekly binary commissions were generated when one sales team produced 720 points and the other produced 360 points, paying $100 per cycle plus a Global Rewards match of up to $50. A second binary calculation paid $25 monthly cycles based on a three-to-six sales-volume ratio. The plan also included car allowances, sales-office support, incentive travel, President's Club bonuses, and other rank-based rewards.

Representatives generally joined by purchasing a video-service package and paying an ongoing subscription. The products were available to retail customers, but participation in the compensation plan depended on enrolling as a representative and building two sales teams.

The Better Business Bureau currently gives Team Effort International a D- rating because it failed to respond to three complaints. The BBB identifies Mel Gill as the owner and Sonu Sandhu as director of sales.
