Original Npros business profile for SPRINGBOARD, preserved below for archival purposes:
Springboard is a California health-and-wellness products business historically operated by Lawrence A. Jordan and Stephanie L. Jordan under the Springboard and Pro Health Labs names. Earlier business-directory records associated the company with SB3.com and described an online shopping operation offering books and general consumer merchandise. By the 2000s, the business had shifted its focus toward nutritional supplements, health information and hormone-related topical products, operating through both SB3.com and Springboard4Health.com. Federal Trade Commission records identify Lawrence and Stephanie Jordan as the individuals who directed and controlled the Springboard and Pro Health Labs businesses.
The current Springboard product line includes ProBalance and ProBalance Plus liposomal creams, magnesium citrate cream, vitamin B12, vitamin D3 with MenaQ7, glutathione, niacinamide and other topical wellness formulations. The company also sells nutritional supplements and products from outside manufacturers, including Allergy Research Group and Progressive Laboratories. Products are purchased directly through the company's online store, with six- and 12-unit quantity discounts available on some items. Springboard does not currently advertise independent representatives, recruitment commissions, downline bonuses or a multilevel compensation plan. It operates as a conventional direct-to-consumer internet retailer rather than an active MLM opportunity.
Springboard remains active through Springboard4Health.com.
In October 2007, the FTC charged Lawrence and Stephanie Jordan with making inadequately substantiated health claims for ProBalance and ProBalance Plus, topical products labeled as containing progesterone and, in the case of ProBalance Plus, estriol and estradiol. The FTC alleged that advertisements represented that the products could prevent, treat or cure osteoporosis; reduce the risk of estrogen-induced uterine cancer; and prevent or reduce breast-cancer risk. The complaint also challenged claims that clinical testing proved some of those benefits.
The Jordans settled the case without admitting the alleged violations. The FTC issued its final decision and order on November 13, 2007, requiring competent and reliable scientific evidence for future claims concerning progesterone products, dietary supplements, foods, drugs, devices and other health-related products or services. The announced settlement imposed advertising and substantiation requirements rather than a stated monetary penalty or consumer-refund payment.
