Kannaway

Kannaway said it had begun launching operations in South Africa and hired Duduzile Mathole as country manager. Mathole was described as experienced in local and regional cannabis rules. Chief executive Blake Schroeder said she would help establish the business in South Africa and the wider region.
The company tied the timing to South Africa making cannabidiol available without a prescription the prior year. It cited a Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development estimate that the South African cannabidiol market was worth 1.9 billion dollars and could support 25,000 jobs.
Mathole said the assignment was to expand access to cannabis products and to add business opportunities locally. The announcement describes the start of the build, not a fully operating sales force.
