REAL Brokerage

The Real Brokerage Inc. has settled a commission lawsuit brought by Illinois homebuyer Kevin Cwynar by opting into a consolidated buyer-side settlement, according to a motion filed January 5, 2026 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Real joined the Tuccori case, in which six similar homebuyer suits were consolidated in October 2025 and a preliminary global settlement fund of just over 3.2 million dollars was reached with 11 brokerage defendants. The filing did not disclose Real's share. Cwynar agreed to stay his case and is now listed as a plaintiff in Tuccori. The homebuyer claims are separate from the home-seller claims Real resolved in 2024 for 9.25 million dollars.

A week earlier, on December 29, 2025, an amended complaint in the Taylor case in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington added Real Broker, LLC, a Real subsidiary, as a defendant. That suit accuses Zillow of running a scheme to inflate commissions and steer buyers to Zillow Home Loans in violation of RESPA and racketeering laws. Zillow denies the claims. Real said it does not comment on ongoing litigation.
