Real Brokerage is a technology-based residential real estate brokerage operated by The Real Brokerage Inc., and maintains its principal executive office in Miami, Florida, and its registered office in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The company was founded in 2014 by Tamir Poleg, who serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and was incorporated in its current form in British Columbia in February 2018. Its common shares trade on the Nasdaq under the symbol REAX.
Real operates a licensed brokerage across all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and five Canadian provinces, and also offers mortgage brokerage, title and escrow, and financial technology services. The company reported 31,739 agents on its platform at the end of 2025. In August 2026, Real completed its acquisition of RE/MAX Holdings, Inc., and the combined company now operates as Real REMAX Group, which reports more than 180,000 agents in over 120 countries and territories.
Real affiliates independent real estate agents rather than employees, and agents earn income primarily from the commissions on their own real estate transactions. Under the standard U.S. agent plan, agents receive an 85/15 commission split until they reach a $12,000 annual cap, after which they keep 100% of commissions and pay a post-cap transaction fee of $285 per transaction, or 15% if less.
Agents also pay joining, annual brokerage, and per-transaction fees. Real additionally operates a five-tier revenue share program in which agents who sponsor other agents receive a portion of the company's 15% split on transactions closed by those agents.
Revenue share is paid at 5% on Tier 1 (directly sponsored) agents, up to $4,000 per capping agent per year, 4% on Tier 2 agents, 3% on Tier 3 agents, 2% on Tier 4 agents, and 1% on Tier 5 agents. Deeper tiers are unlocked by sponsoring a minimum number of producing Tier 1 agents, by reaching certain total network sizes, or by meeting personal production thresholds.
To remain eligible, an agent must contribute at least $450 in revenue to Real during each rolling six-month period. Revenue share is not earned once a sponsored agent has reached the annual cap. A $175 annual program participation fee and a 1.2% processing fee are deducted from revenue share payments, and monthly revenue share earnings above $85,000 are paid on a declining sliding scale. Agents may also be eligible for company stock awards tied to production and attraction.

In April 2024, Real entered into a nationwide settlement of Umpa v. National Association of Realtors, a class action filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri alleging that real estate industry participants conspired to inflate home seller commissions. Real agreed to pay $9.25 million into a settlement fund and to adopt business-practice changes, including clarifying that commissions are negotiable and prohibiting claims that buyer-agent services are free. The company stated that the settlement was not an admission of liability.
In January 2026, Real reached a settlement in Cwynar, a homebuyer commission class action in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, by opting into the consolidated Tuccori settlement. The terms of Real's settlement were not disclosed, and the settlement was not a finding that the company had violated the law.
