Original Npros business profile for Vault Denim, preserved below for archival purposes:

Vault Denim was a Utah-based direct-selling apparel company founded in 2010 by Doug Brady. The company specialized in discounted premium and boutique denim sold through home "jean parties," where customers could try on multiple styles and generally take their purchases home immediately. Vault Denim said it obtained overstock and previous-season merchandise from wholesalers and offered jeans at prices as much as 50% below department-store retail. Its assortment included women's and men's jeans, maternity and children's denim, shorts, skirts and several company-exclusive labels. In June 2013, Vault Denim expanded beyond apparel through an exclusive partnership with Fenix Skin Care.

Independent sellers were known as Vault Fashion Consultants. The company supplied inventory through regional inventory coordinators rather than requiring each consultant to purchase and maintain a complete stock of jeans. Consultants paid a $159 enrollment fee and earned approximately 18% to 24% on personal retail sales, depending on monthly volume. The multilevel compensation plan also paid overrides of up to 7% on sales generated by personally sponsored consultants and up to 5% on the next level of recruits. Party hosts received merchandise credit equal to approximately 10% of party sales.

Enrollment Options

The start-up cost for a new Vault Fashion Consultant (VFC) is $159.00. New VFCs receive a ½ off coupon for their first pair of Vault jeans, business cards, a personalized email address, a training binder and additional training materials.

Compensation Plan

Vault Fashion Consultants earn between 18% and 24% of their personal sales, depending on how much they sell in a month. They can also recruit others and earn up to 7% on their sales and up to 5% on the sales of the consultants they recruit.
