Mannatech said fourth-quarter 2021 net sales were 39.5 million dollars, up 0.8 percent from 39.2 million dollars a year earlier, or up 3.6 percent in constant dollars. Operating income was 1.0 million dollars, versus an operating loss of 11,000 dollars in the year-earlier quarter. Net income was 2.6 million dollars, or 1.25 dollars per diluted share, versus 0.7 million dollars, or 34 cents per share.
Gross profit margin rose to 77.5 percent. The company recorded a 0.6 million dollar charge tied to an expected Korea customs audit outcome and noted higher research and development spending. Independent associate and preferred customer positions associated with purchases were about 163,000 at year-end, down from about 183,000 a year earlier.
