Mannatech reported third quarter net sales of 39.4 million dollars, up 1.4 million dollars, or 3.9 percent, from 38.0 million dollars. In constant currency the sales increase was about 1.3 percent. Income from operations rose to 3.3 million dollars from 1.4 million dollars. Net income was 2.9 million dollars, or 1.44 dollars per diluted share, compared with 1.6 million dollars, or 0.76 dollars, a year earlier.
Associate and preferred customer positions tied to product purchases were about 166,000, down from about 180,000 a year earlier. New recruits fell 1.4 percent to 25,036. Selling and administrative expenses rose 0.5 million dollars, mainly on payroll. Cash was 27.1 million dollars.
For the first nine months, net sales were 120.3 million dollars, up 7.2 percent, and net income was 7.3 million dollars, or 3.47 dollars per diluted share. Constant-currency operating income for the quarter more than doubled.
