Nouveau Cosmeceuticals was an Albuquerque, New Mexico-based skincare and beauty company founded in 2002 by Ace Hawkins. Hawkins created the company after becoming dissatisfied with the expense and complexity of products she had been using for acne-prone and sun-damaged skin. She worked with cosmetic formulation specialist Clifton Sanders, whose industry background included product development work involving companies such as Mary Kay, Coty, Maybelline, and BeautiControl. The company positioned its products as "cosmeceuticals" and marketed them through independent consultants as well as directly to preferred customers.

The original product line was organized around the Nouveau Face System, Nouveau Body, and Nouveau Hair collections. Products included cleansers, serums, moisturizers, complexion treatments, body-care products, and hair and scalp treatments. Nouveau emphasized relatively simple skincare routines and products formulated for a range of ages and skin types. Historical advertising also offered Preferred Customers a 30% product discount.
