Jewelry In Candles was a Louisville, Kentucky-based direct-selling company operated by Louisville Marketing, Inc. under the leadership of Micah Buse. Although Louisville Marketing dated to 2012, the Jewelry In Candles business launched in 2013 and built its identity around scented soy candles and wax tarts containing a hidden piece of jewelry. Customers could choose the type of jewelry they wantedâ€"including rings, necklaces, earrings, and other piecesâ€"which was sealed inside the product and revealed as the candle burned or the wax melted. The company later expanded under the broader JIC Nation branding, adding additional products and promoting a natural and eco-friendly lifestyle.

Jewelry In Candles sold its products through independent representatives using a multilevel compensation structure. Representatives earned a reported 30% commission on their personal retail sales, along with 6% on first-level downline sales and 4% on second-level sales. Representatives were provided with replicated online stores and could also purchase products at a discount for resale directly to customers. The company promoted relatively low startup costs and did not require representatives to maintain large inventories. Jewelry Candles challenged Buse's ownership of the domain through the World Intellectual Property Organization, but the WIPO panel denied the complaint on March 23, 2015, finding that the complainant had not established sufficient trademark rights in the descriptive phrase. The dispute then continued in federal court, where Louisville Marketing and Jewelry Candles pursued competing claims involving trademark infringement, unfair competition, and related issues.

The original Jewelry In Candles direct-selling operation eventually shut down. A former company vice president reported that the business closed on June 30, 2019, and the former MLM opportunity is no longer being offered.
