SALT LAKE CITY, April 30, 2024 --
USANA Health Sciences reported first-quarter 2024 net sales of 228 million dollars, down 8 percent from 248 million dollars a year earlier, or about 5 percent in constant currency, with diluted earnings per share of 0.86 dollars compared with 0.95 dollars.
Active customers rose 1 percent year over year to 494,000. Greater China sales rose 3 percent, or 7 percent in constant currency, helped by a mainland China incentive that drove 15 percent active-customer growth there, while other Asia markets and the Americas and Europe declined. The company completed its first full quarter of operations in India.
Chief Executive Jim Brown said results outside China fell short of internal expectations. USANA reiterated full-year 2024 guidance for net sales of 850 million to 920 million dollars and diluted EPS of 2.40 to 3.00 dollars. Cash ended the quarter at 328 million dollars with essentially no debt.
