SALT LAKE CITY, July 23, 2024 --
USANA Health Sciences reported second-quarter 2024 net sales of 213 million dollars, down 11 percent from 238 million dollars a year earlier, or 8 percent in constant currency. Diluted earnings per share fell 39 percent to 0.54 dollars from 0.89 dollars, and active customers declined 4 percent to 468,000.
President and Chief Executive Jim Brown said results fell short of expectations as macroeconomic pressure in several key markets hurt consumer spending and made it harder to attract and engage new customers. He pointed to the company's recent restructuring of its commercial team, its push into India and its pursuit of acquisitions.
USANA narrowed its fiscal 2024 outlook to net sales of 850 million to 880 million dollars and diluted EPS of 2.40 to 2.55 dollars, down from prior ranges of 850 million to 920 million dollars and 2.40 to 3.00 dollars. The company ended the quarter with 332 million dollars in cash and no debt.
