USANA Health Sciences reported third quarter net sales of 274.4 million dollars, down 8 percent from 298.5 million dollars a year earlier and down 11 percent in constant currency. Diluted earnings per share were 1.36 dollars, compared with 1.44 dollars. Active customers were 576,000, down 11 percent. Results were modestly ahead of the outlook given on September 16.

Asia Pacific sales were 220.9 million dollars, about 81 percent of the total, and Greater China sales were 123.2 million dollars, down 9 percent. Chief executive and chairman Kevin Guest cited lockdowns and a difficult comparison with a large short-term sales program in the prior-year quarter.

The company repeated full-year guidance of 1.18 billion to 1.20 billion dollars in net sales and diluted earnings per share of 5.80 to 6.00 dollars. It also said it expected about 130 million dollars of free cash flow in fiscal 2021. Chief financial officer Doug Hekking said the outlook includes spending that could pressure near-term margins. Fiscal 2021 has 52 weeks, one fewer than fiscal 2020.
