USANA Health Sciences said preliminary second-quarter 2022 net sales would be about 265 million dollars, down from 337 million dollars a year earlier, and diluted earnings per share would be about 1.05 dollars versus 1.87 dollars. The company cited ongoing COVID-related disruptions in several key markets, including mainland China.
Fiscal 2022 guidance was cut to net sales of 1.015 billion to 1.065 billion dollars from a prior range of 1.100 billion to 1.200 billion dollars, and diluted earnings per share of 3.85 to 4.45 dollars from 5.00 to 5.70 dollars. Chief executive and chairman Kevin Guest said participation, active-customer counts, and financial performance came in lower than anticipated.
The company said it would provide complete second-quarter results later in July and continued to emphasize digital experience, associate onboarding, market-specific incentives, China experience centers, and business-development opportunities.
