Organo Gold, now commonly branded as ORGANO, began in 2008 in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. The company built its business around ganoderma-enhanced coffee and beverages, using Ganoderma lucidum, also known as reishi mushroom, as the signature ingredient in its product positioning. Its early product focus was gourmet coffee, but the company later expanded into teas, hot cocoa, nutraceuticals, personal-care products, skincare, body-management products, and related wellness offerings.
ORGANO remains active as a global network-marketing company. Current product categories include beverages such as Gourmet Black Coffee, Royal Black Coffee, King of Coffee, Café Latte, Café Mocha, Café Supreme, Hot Cocoa, Green Tea, and Red Tea; body-management and mushroom products such as Fenix GX, Ganoderma Lucidum, Mycelium, and Spore Powder; personal-care products such as G3 Beauty Soap and OG Smile Toothpaste; and skincare products under the beU line.
The company continues to operate through Independent Distribution Partners. Its current business-opportunity materials state that products are available through ORGANO Distribution Partners and that people interested in selling ORGANO products are connected with an existing Distributor Partner. The compensation plan includes multiple ways to earn, including product commissions, a dual-team bonus, unilevel matching bonus, generational bonus, and global bonus pool. ORGANO's current compensation page states that the dual-team bonus can pay up to $75,000 weekly, the unilevel matching bonus can pay on personally sponsored distributors up to 4 levels deep, and the global bonus pool shares 3% of total worldwide unilevel commissionable volume.
ORGANO's 2025 income disclosure states that a typical participant in the ORGANO compensation plan earned between $0 and $599 per year. The company reported that 80.9% of active Independent Distribution Partners who participated in the compensation plan fell into that $0â€"$599 annual earnings range, while the remaining 19.1% reached a leadership rank and earned from $600 to more than $100,000 during the year. The disclosure states that those figures exclude retail customers, wholesale customers, and distribution partners who did not renew their contract.
ORGANO's regulatory history includes a 2014 action by Italy's competition authority, AGCM, involving Organo Gold Europe. The authority sanctioned Organo Golden Europe, Vemma Italia, and Asea Italy for unfair commercial practices in illegal multi-level beverage sales, with total fines of â'¬500,000. Organo Golden Europe's portion was â'¬250,000. AGCM described the conduct as a pyramid-type promotional system in which compensation derived primarily from recruiting other consumers into the system rather than from product sales or consumption, and it stated that Organo Gold Europe's position was aggravated by unsubstantiated curative-product claims.
ORGANO's legal history also includes Johnson v. Organo Gold International, Inc., a 2015 Delaware federal case involving Organo Gold coffee containing Ganoderma Lucidum. The plaintiff alleged that he purchased three boxes of Organo Gold coffee in March 2013, consumed the product, and later suffered bleeding-related complications after gastric-bypass surgery. The complaint alleged failure to warn and consumer-fraud theories related to Ganoderma Lucidum. In May 2016, the federal court granted Organo Gold's motion to dismiss in part and denied it in part; class allegations and several claims were dismissed or withdrawn, while portions of the plaintiff's claims were allowed to proceed at that stage.
